How about... "Yes, it's class warfare... |

...and the Republicans are the ones who declared it!"

Pass ME the salsa...make sure you boil them just a little longer than necessary, I hear rich people have a lot of gristle and get stuck in your teeth! Great for tacos!

17. As an ex-Austinite (76-78) & Tyler(ite? 78-80), I know lots of good bbq recipes for slow-cooked, .. |

... mesquite-grilled beef brisket.
However, my guess is that our Southern PORK barbeque sauces might be most appropriate for this fanciful feast fit ... for the hogs.
Note to the soon-come universe: takin' our country back won't be beanbag.
If you don't want to help save our democracy, hide and watch.
"Class warfare?"
"Hey! You talkin' to me?"

4. in the case of obama's latest proposal, the only "class warfare" involved |
|
is on the part of republicans trying to defend the crazy notion that the million-dollar-a-year club should pay a LOWER percentage than the rest of us.
any reasonable person would find the current situation outrageous and defending it reprehensible.
but republicans aren't reasonable people....

It's a return barrage in response to salvo after salvo we've taken over the last 3 decades that have gone unanswered.
I am the father of a 5 year old, and I know how this works, ever since she enter her "terrible twos". I extend her priveleges and give her the opportunity to do the right things in order to keep them. I found out when she was about 3 1/2 what would happen if I got too lax with rescinding priveleges for bad behavior.
What we have here is a bunch of really bad toddlers who have thrown a tantrum every time their privelege has been threatened and unfortunately, they've gotten their way over and over. They have had the opportunity to do the right thing, many times....they have failed.
Enough already, it's time to bring the hammer down and fuck 'em if they don't like it.

6. "THE LONG WAR": been going on since Pyramid workers were shorted their pay and went on strike |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-19-11 01:13 PM by sam11111
In about 1100 BC Pharoh Ramses. IIRC.
They WON the strike
Most wars since were for plunder, the local Robber Barons (upper class) looking to rob all classses living next door.
So some form of class war has been going on for 3100 years.
It is " the long war".
Be glad we here have it in the form of nonviolent elections.
Far better than what one sees elsewhere. Ghandi had it right: nonviolence is the way to do things.

...only part Americans will hear and the MSM would report.
Republicans are claiming it's class warfare, don't say "Yes..."

|
but he won't say it on his bloody pulpit.
He did say it in the last election cycle but that was an election cycle.

"class warfare" refers to the wealthy being abused by the sufferings of everyone else.
Republicans are very adroit at poisoning our words and perverting the intent our conversations.

19. I agree, the President should embrace the term rather than |
|
deny it. It's been going on for decades.
Trickle down economics, NAFTA, CAFTA, outsourcing, union-busting, ENRON, tax cuts, voter suppression, TARP, the 'mortgage crisis', etc.
He should explain that the uber-wealthy and their puppets in Congress have been waging class warfare on 99% of Americans for years and years and he intends to stop it. Put them on the defensive, make them justify their financial policies.

20. They are on their heels now |
|
That was all it took. We have support in the press, we have the narrative with the Buffet mantra, and we have staked out reality of fact on our side. This is what was needed. It could be done on a grand scale if the narrative is pushed.
I learned in debate along time ago that the goal is to get someone into a defensive position.
It works every time it is tried.
