John Nichols: After FBI raid, why is Walker stonewalling? (No show jobs?)
Edited on Mon Sep-19-11 02:33 PM by Ellipsis
(snip)

Walker can stonewall for a while more.

But with the FBI raid, with a Walker donor admitting to felonies, and with evidence mounting that the governor and his appointees have been busy finding no-show jobs for the targets of John Doe investigations, this is not the sort of scandal that can be swept under the rug.

It is, as well, precisely the sort of scandal that scares investors away from a state — especially when concerns about money laundering and pay-to-play politics have been raised.

Walker may not want to answer questions now, but he is going to have to answer eventually.

This scandal cannot be separated from the broader issue of the governor’s assaults on collective bargaining rights, local democracy and open government. Those assaults have led thousands of Wisconsinites to express support for recalling Walker. The John Doe investigation into his aides, the FBI raid and the governor’s stonewalling will only increase the sense — even among swing voters — that Walker must be held to account.

The rest.

1. I am so glad the people of WI have the chance to recall him!!
They won't have to put up with him for two more years. He is political scum, arrogant and Napoleonic. He has to go. Watch for the disposition of public property though!! He may well try to enrich the KOCHS before he leaves town by deeding over the 3 power plants owned by the state.

2. Keep bumping this along
The recall petitions can be circulated just after the first of the year, right? A nice steady drip of bad news should keep Walker's mischief quotient down until he can be recalled from office.

4. We need to bring this guy down. In all likelihood, a recall will not be until....
...November 2012.

In theory, signature collection can begin in November for a recall in January (one year in office). Word is the PTB will wait for the general election.

The recall of two Republican State Senators has - to a degree - defanged Walker. The R's still hold the majority, but R-Dale Schultz voted against the union-busting bill and appears to be appalled at what his colleagues are trying to do.

But we need to get this guy out of office.
