Multi-Millionaire Congressman: ‘I Don’t Want To Raise My Taxes…Don’t Ask Me’ To Pay More

Multi-Millionaire Congressman: ‘I Don’t Want To Raise My Taxes…Don’t Ask Me’ To Pay More | Responding to an ad produced by the group Patriot Millionaires calling for raising taxes on the wealthy, Rep. John Campbell (R-CA) — who was worth up to $37 million in 2009, the most recent year available — said he doesn’t want to pay anymore in taxes. “I don’t want to raise my taxes,” Campbell said, “I don’t want to raise anybody’s taxes.” Campbell added that billionaire Warren Buffet, who has called for raising taxes, can pay more to government if he wants to, “but don’t ask me and a whole lot of other Americans” to pay too. Watch it:

This morning, fellow multi-millionaire GOP congressman John Fleming (R-LA) said his taxes shouldn’t be raised because he only has $400,000 “left over” after paying off his business and personal expenses.

But fuck anyone else that wants to get theirs.

9. Well.... so much for the "shared sacrifice" meme....
I guess he got his and to hell with everyone else. Anyone know if he's taken help from the government to get where he is, or did he just "fall out of the right vagina"?

10. But don't stop any of those lovely government services, either, right Mr. Campbell?
You like driving on public roads, having the fire department come out if one of your homes catches fire, and some health department inspector going through the kitchen at local restaurants to make sure your evening repast doesn't poison you, right? How are those things going to be paid for? A wave of a magic wand? Seems like this society does pretty well by you. Don't you think it's time you paid something for its upkeep? Got out of the wagon and helped pull instead of sitting in your comfy berth complaining about the ride?

Grow up, you whiny ass titty baby.

13. Greed is a terrible thing!
All this is pure and simple GREED! It's a shame when people like this who make millions complain about paying their share of taxes, when the middle class "HAS" to pay a higher percent on their taxes! When is enough enough? How much money do they have to accumulate, and not pay their share of taxes, before they see just how greedy they are?

Someone needs to make sure those in congress who say things like this, "I don' want to raise my taxes" are targeted with their own words in the next election. I don't care what party a person is in, when they say things like this, even those in their own party are not going to like it, and we need to make sure all those voters hear these words!

16. Then I guess the guy doesn't want a Democracy. People pay taxes in a democracy.
And people in government allocate those taxes. So if there is not enough tax revenue then perhaps we can just as well do without a representative in Congress who doesn't want to support a democracy.

22. Air-hammered in the balls for that shit.
UNbelie . . . uh, wait, that's actually VERY believeable for someone worth 8 figures to not want to give even one red CENT of that whopping 15% up (dividend and interest income is taxed at a flat 15%, which is where the bulk of someone worth 37 million comes from) for living in the nation he does.

No really, keep talking all you congressmen. Just keep on talking. You're creating new Democratic voters with each incredibly stupid thing you say.
