Tacoma teachers still on strike, contract negotiations continue


TACOMA—
Tacoma teachers marched outside all middle schools Monday in day five of the strike.

“We don’t want to be on strike, they don’t want to be on strike. We want to go back to the classrooms,” said Stadium High School PE teacher Dave Baughman.

In court, Judge Bryan Chushcoff told the district it can start mailing contempt notices to all union members who violated his order to return to work last week. The judge also discussed a game plan if the strike continues.
