"Don't Ask Don't Tell"

Thank you so very, very much, Mr. President, for furthering human rights. Please keep up this type of great progressive work.

Cheers!

4. I appreciate what he did but many more deserve just as much credit if not more.
Just to name a few. Patrick Murphy, admiral mullen, & several service members & members of Congress, SLDN. It was a joint effort.

5. Its something to make us proud of our military again.
Another star for being on the right side of history, like when they were doing racial integration while blacks in the south couldn't even drink from the same drinking fountain as whites. Nobody can call them backwards, not then and not now.

12. Rec'd. Washington Post had a bit of a write-up on the death of DADT
and the president's role in it.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/post/its-official-dont-ask-dont-tell-is-history/2011/03/03/gIQAq93yfK_blog.html

"It only came after a nearly pitch-perfect effort by Obama and the military leadership to create the political conditions necessary to bring about repeal, as well as well as some very shrewd public and private gamesmanship by Senate leaders that left GOP moderates with little choice but to do the right thing. It will be endlessly debated whether Obama and Dems did this in response to outside pressure, but the fact is, they did it."
