Rachel had him on last night and I couldn't stop crying. How could Pennsylvania's 8th congressional district do this to a man who has literally fought for this country and has done everything for the veterans and the troops, from fighting for full health benefits to the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell? It's simply heartbreaking. I don't get it.

1. I don't get it, either.
It's his district's loss, for sure. I hope he runs again in 2012.

2. Saw him on Rachel, too. Seems a decent, forthright man. Disqualifies him for Congress, apparently.

4. K/R for Patrick Murphy--working hard on doing what's right, right up until his last day.

5. I live in his district, and it's always been a swing district
The 8th has flipped back and forth between Democrats and Republicans more times than I can remember. I think the key at the moment is that it's heavily suburban, and those fiscally conservative voters have turned particularly sour -- or at least apathetic -- on the Democrats in the last two years.
