The Oatmeal explains, "Why Netflix is splitting itself in two." |
|
Some here yesterday didn't understand why anyone would be upset about Netflix's changes. The Oatmeal explains it pretty well with his latest comic: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/netflix

Pisspoor analogy and all I think i will stick to my contention that it's their fucking business they can run it how they fucking want to and I am not going to lose one second worrying about it.
Still cheaper than cable, still a better selection than any lousyass locally owned store.
They make an intelligent business decision and everyone comes unglued.

2. I loves me some Oatmeal, but I still don't agree. |
|
If you get both, you still get pretty much unlimited movies for less than you can rent one a weekend in a store.
So Netflix should continue to charge the same price even when they are having to pay more for the bandwidth?

4. Currently you coordinate 1 list and decide whether you want to stream or request a dvd. |
|
That will be gone. And if sending me a movie is so drastically cheaper due to bandwidth, why not lower that price?

6. I agree the single list being gone is kind of dumb. |
|
I understand the different prices for the two services, though. The single price did go down (though that may be hard to see because there was really no prior option for just DVDs anymore). The only real increase is if you have both.

5. I can't figure out why Netflix pricing/corporate structure is such a hot button issue here. |
|
What is so fascinating about this? Who's even got time to watch movies?
