down by prollee another 100 k and tax up 400 plus. All for schools. So I'm going to be looking for any new charters in the area and raise some hell. In addition to any new ones, going to be checking to see how much existing charters are getting. I am fucking PISSED!

1. The problem is that your value dropped less than the average drop in your area |
|
which is why your taxes went up despite the value of your place having gone down.

And property values went down a shocking 100k this year, it would stand to reason that in order to maintain current pay levels, you would have to increase the property tax rate.
This isn't fucking rocket science.

Property tax revenues go down, you can't afford to pay as many teachers as you did the year before when property value/taxes were higher. This ismreally simple math.

This is the kind of shit repukes do, all the god damn time.
So maybe it's not a new roof (it was an example, not a cited case) it's a new library, or what the hell ever. Something caused them to raise taxes. Inflation? Health care costs? Mandated improvements to the facilities? Maybe even new buses or other equipment? Regardless, the reasons are not the point.
In your mind it's the evil county government taking your money and giving it to someone who doesn't deserve it.
That's puke shit. Dead on.
Sell it somewhere else.

|
"And what the fuck is a special health district? What we have malaria over here? Maybe."
"And the fucking county fund up $24.30... what the fuck, "some bastard get a raise? I fucking didn't!"
So school funding went up and our buddy thinks automatically that the county is screwing him.
The county raises the county fund and he thinks HE ought to get a raise and no one else.
THIS IS THE KIND OF SHIT THAT REPUKES DO EVERY SINGLE DAY.
All they are concerned about is THEIR tax bill, and screw everyone and everything else.

27. Your house went down by a hundred thousand dollars? |
|
I don't mean to pile on, but out here in the boondocks you can buy an entire fucking house for what you lost in valuation this year. A large and really nice house, like 2800 square feet, 4 bedroom two bath with three car garage type house.

38. LOL. Arizona is a wierd place within certain areas. prollee lucky to have 1300 sq ft here. |
|
:7 I knew the fucking dump would go up in value, but I knew when I bought here many years ago that things could not continue to climb as they did. I do not even count the value lost, as it was real value, it never was, it was all phonied bullshit by the banks. Now they are attacking on the backside with some phoney bullshit valuation increase, what the phoney value continues to decline, and the money never goes to the fucking schools or the teachers. It's all bullshit! I want to know if my public school money is going to some fucking charter and I intend to find out! That's all.

if my property value declined by 100k they'd be paying me to frickin live here.
Still, my property taxes have more than doubled in the last 6 years.
Property tax and homeowners insurance on a small 60 year old home plus auto insurance on a 10 year old car driven less then 7,500 miles annually runs me over 6k annually. And I do not have any accidents or claims on record and have some discounts in place.
My personal opinion is that the only people who ought to be permitted to vote on matters regarding real estate taxes are the people who pay the taxes. The area here has become dependent upon using these taxes for many, many other things than just K-12 public education.

They just put any damned thing they feel like putting on the valuations apparently just to get more freaking taxes out of working middle class. And if not a slave laborer, then from the most poverty stricken members of this good ole US of A. The money doesn't go to retain anything ie teachers as another poster on this thread keeps insisting. It's just a column on someone's spreadsheet that became fatter for someone to swap onto another ledger to wheedle out as some dog sees fit. I do not agree with your sentiment in your last paragraph as the heart of all our problems are seated within education. The people least likely to be led around by the nose are educated. If a person lives in apartment and doesn't pay property taxes, he or she pays other taxes and may have an interest in children getting an education, even if they are not their children, as those children may make decisions for them when they reach majority. Also that idea creates exclussionary look down your nose at certain people and is not good in my opinion. Just say'n.

My Mom had a huge offer on her house during the boom, about triple the value of the house, close to $300k. Now, after the bust, her house has devalued considerably. You remember she lives in the same area that you do.
During the boom, some patio homes in the area were selling for over $100k, she told me one sold at auction last week for $20k.
For those that are dissing you for the "value" of your home, they need to understand that the actual valuations are still inflated from the boom that YOU did not cause nor from the ensuing bust that you also didn't cause.
Now, the fact that you will end up paying for someone else's greed is the bottom line.
And I agree with the Charter School theory and I also know that you aren't anti-teacher. This is an entirely different game that is being played.

Only people who pay taxes should get to vote.
They'd love to disenfranchise the poor and minorities.
You a fan of that too?
