US PUSHES UN seat for dissorganized militant Libyans, but BLOCKS organized peaceful Palestinians

Do we understand how perverse this appears to the outside world?

Libya: NTC fail to agree on the formation of new government

Libya's interim leaders failed to agree a new cabinet on Sunday and the forces that forced Muammar Gaddafi from power remained bogged down in fighting with troops loyal to the former ruler.
. . .
The political and military problems underscored how hard it would be to restore stabilty to Libya after Gaddafi was driven out of Tripoli last month.
. . .
But the talks broke down when his (Jibril's) proposals did not receive full backing from all current members.

A list of the approved ministries was not available, though sources familiar with the negotiations said that the position of Jibril himself was a sticking point during the talks.

then so be it.

I do however believe the US may live to regret using the veto if they do in fact use it.

Ye - perverse is a good way of expressing the situation.

2. And if Libyans refused to acknowledge, say, Egypt's right to exist, that might be a comparison
Kind of hard to be in the UN when you want another member of the UN to cease to exist.

3. Palestinians have recognized Israel's right to exist since 1993 over and over and over
