Bachmann Tours Iowa Meat Plant Without Hair Net, whines about over-regulation
Edited on Wed Sep-21-11 12:26 PM by bullwinkle428
"Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann says too many federal regulations are hindering job creation in sectors like the food industry.

She shared that message while not wearing a hair net as she walked amid hanging sides of beef during a campaign stop at the Amend Packing Company in Des Moines, Iowa. Photos taken at the event also show the Minnesota congresswoman cutting up rib eye steaks without a head covering.

The plant's owner said he wished federal food safety rules could be changed to allow for fewer E. coli tests during the packing process. Bachmann labeled such regulations as "overkill" that burden small businesses with additional costs. The Department of Agriculture recently announced a new rule that will ban the sale of ground beef tainted with certain E. coli strains being cited more often as the cause of food-borne illness."

12. The GOP would cap those to protect corporations.
So you need to know how many people DIED eating the meat of various companies, and then you would stop shopping at those who killed the most people.

The free market takes care of it.

Except you're dead.

13. Silly! What do you think "tort reform" is for?
Jeez, it's like you don't think they're three steps ahead of this game. First, strip out all government regulations. Then you set up an alternate dispute resolution system stacked in your favor (binding arbitration), then close the courthouse doors to pesky victims or their survivors, and voila! unfettered wealth thanks to the Invisible Hand of the Free Market.

9. I got food poisoning from those tainted tomatoes
a few years ago. I almost went blind. If I had saved any of those tomatoes, I certainly would have tried to sue. Besides all the medical bills, I couldn't go to work. I couldn't SEE.

she's dead in the polls.

8. When you call Amend the phone answer gal is mean!
I contacted them and politely asked if it would have been wise to have Bachmann wearing a hairnet for the photo-ops. The woman answering the phone hung up on me and then called me back to hang up on me. When I called and asked why she did that, she said it was to WARN me that she had my number. I guess I'm gonna have to put 'em on blast on Facebook and Twitter - can't have them being rude like that without consequence, can I?

If you care to have a little fun....give 'em a call - go ahead: 515-265-1618.

14. If you can look at the original photo you will also see that
she is wearing sandals .......

Wearing open shoes is a no-no, no hairnet, no hard hat.

She could have had one of those sides of beef fall on her and she would have sued the meat packer

I would quite suddenly become a full on vegetarian.

But then again, I don't eat factory fear meat.

the woman is a fucking moron.

On edit: if you are going to read one chapter and one chapter only from the book "Fast Food Nation", read then one entitled "Kenny".

You will never ever eat factory fear meat ever again.

It was that one chapter and that one chapter alone that stopped me from eating fast food forever.

The CDC wasn't able to find the source, but I'm glad they tried. I can't imagine not have these regulations. IDIOTS!

22. what an image there
What a vulgar brutish scene. Smiling while surrounded by the stripped bloody carcasses of so many tortured animals.

Not to rag on all the meateaters, I mean I know a bunch of them who have to just not think of what's happening in the factories, that's what I used to do, but this Bachmann wants to get all up in it :puke: smiling.

Of course this will make her popular with most other humans, so clearly I'm the one who's wrong.
