35 bodies dumped on road as Mexican drug war continues

Masked gunmen have blocked traffic on a busy avenue in the Mexican coastal city of Boca del Rio and dumped the bodies of 35 murder victims in front of motorists, according to authorities.

Veracruz state attorney general Reynaldo Escobar Pérez said the bodies were left piled in two trucks and on the ground of an underpass. Police had identified seven of the victims as being linked to organised crime.

The Gulf and Zetas drug cartels have been locked in a bloody war for control in Veracruz state over the last year.

Motorists first began tweeting on Tuesday afternoon that masked gunmen in military uniforms were blocking Manuel Ávila Camacho Boulevard and pointing their guns at civilians. ............(more)

It doesn't work any better today than it did in from 1920 to 1933.

12. Last year alone 35K Mexicans died
so 200 is a drop in the bucket... sadly.

The year before also over 30K people died.

A few guns we sent to try to trace the camino de hormigas did not kill all those people.

10. The alcohol and pharma lobbyists wont allow it
Irrational fear of marijuana (Reefer Madness) and lobbyists are the biggest things keeping the war on drugs going.

I've met people that believe smoking marijuana causes hallucinations and the desire to fight.

And I know that allowing people to use marijuana would cut down on alcohol use as well as the profits of pharmaceutical companies.
