K&R if you think this country deserves whatever it gets if Rick Perry is elected
Yeah, Obama has disappointed me more than once. Yeah, I'm not gonna be as enthusiastic voting for him in '12 as I was in '08. Yeah, I fear that his rediscovered fire might just be a campaign tactic, and he'll return to his bipartisanshit approach upon reelection.

But maybe, just maybe, my fears are unfounded. Maybe Obama will more aggressively pursue progressive policies in a second term. Maybe we'll get SCOTUS Justices that are actually sane. Maybe I'm just a goddamned fool.

But I'm pretty sure about this much: If that fucking More-Bush-than-Bush asshole wins the presidency, then this country will have signed its own death warrant, and I will take my daughter (my son in the Army will never leave) and become an illegal immigrant in Canada, or Britain, or Australia, or New Zealand. (I now deeply regret not taking that French course in school.)

1. K&R...likewise, this country deserves what it gets with respect to its present government.

2. Did you see his speech today?
He outright laughed when the audience did the *Pass this bill* chant. If I was a mind-reader, I'd bet he was all but incredulous at how easy it COULD be if he got off the nuanced/analytical talk approach and went more *populist.* At least that's what I would be thinking!

FWIW, I totally agree with you. Heading north (if I can ever gather enough $$$ together).

10. No, they're not
In fact, I have a thread somewhere here positing that---if Obama gets less than 310 electoral votes---the GOP will deploy their Army of Lawyers to challenge the results in any state where the President won by less than 50,000 ballots. ;(
