Rick Perry Asks Republican Voters to Quit Their State Jobs
http://bayareahouston.blogspot.com/2011/01/texas-gov-ask-republican-voters-to-quit.html

Today Governor Perry called upon the voters of Texas who supported his agenda of less spending and small government to help achieve this goal by voluntarily resigning from public service. "I am calling on voters who put the Republican party in control over the last 10 years to leave their state funded job and transition into the private sector." said Perry at a press conference.

2. He can't be serious. What idiot would give up a secure job with benefits
in THIS economy, on his say-so?

4. I can't imagine it working...
I'm expecting signs that say "Keep your government hands off my state job!"

Then again, he may just be testing the waters to privatize everything.

11. Where's the sourcing on this piece?
Don't get me wrong, I would love for this to be true, but the only source for this seems to be the blog you linked to, and it doesn't say where or when Perry made this pronouncement. Not to mention that the use of the phrase, "Real conservatives, those who put us into office, such as Republican teachers at Galena Park ISD shouldn't be caught dead suckling on the tit of the government while calling for more tax cuts." seems more than a bit out of character for any politician speaking for the public record, much less a so called man of God like Perry.

12. Holly Cow, Hairy Perry....what a brilliant idea!
"I am calling on voters who put the Republican party in control over the last 10 years to leave their state funded job and transition into the private sector."

....exactly, leave those good-paying state jobs and transition into no-paying invisible private-sector jobs....Hairy Perry, you've nailed it!....when do you start at McDonald's?

16. GOPhers are fucking hypocrites, they would never do anything like this
Satire or not, you'll never get GOPhers to give up their government jobs. Might as well ask teabaggers to give up their Medicaire and Medicaid.
