What would a Tea Party controlled America look like?
If the so called Tea Party ever overtook our government, what would they do to it? What would they do to US? Let your imagination run free: Glenn Beck as a senator? Michelle Bachman heading the department of education? Would they round up all the homosexuals, atheists, and 'put them somewhere'? Would they cut all funding for the poor and forget everything Jesus said about helping the less fortunate among us?

Would Christianity be the only recognized religion? Would evolution cease to be taught in schools? Would people be denied vaccines or medical help? Would we expand our wars the world over?

We laugh at them and dismiss them at our own peril. They ain't no joke.

1. Look Up The Word "Kleptocracy"...
The teabaggers have shown to be heavy on rhetoric and little on actual policy. This is exactly what the big money corporate puppetmasters of this "movement" are hoping for. If (:fear:) this country were ever so stuck on stupid to let these people gain a majority, we'd hear lots of talking points similar to the boooosh era...diversions while the corporates and their lobbyists fleece what's left of this country's treasure and resources. In essence, the "American Dream" (which died 30 years ago) will become a full fledge disaster.

2. The g.o.p. welcomes them, but they fear them too
They want the tea votes, but I agree, they are playing them, just like they've played the Christian conservative vote for decades. The problem is it's never enough for the kooks.

7. The Misconception...
Is that teabaggers are some kind of independent movement. It's a manufactured astroturf shellgame created by the big money powers within the rushpublican party to "rebrand" it.

Remember...following the '08 elections the rushpublicans were on their heels...a "damaged" brand...thus when Rick Sentelli popped on CNBC and began the tabagging game, it was a well coordinated and orchestrated PR shell game run by rushpublican operatives and supported by hate radio and their cable noise network. The rest of the corporate media bought the framing.

Do you really think there were many teabaggers who voted for President Obama or any Democrats? It's all a sham that helped the rushpublicans "restore" their brand last year where elections were local but will be a liability next year when its on a national level.

The crazy thing is this is so transparent yet the great unhinged need to hate so badly they'll gladly submit to corporate masters who will crap on 'em later.

3. 1785 vs. 1885
Depends on who you think the Tea Party really is.

If you think they're sincere in their motives, see "Articles of Confederation."

If you think they're stooges for corporatist masters, see "Gilded Age."

16. Most of these right-wing a$$hats
Have no idea what the "Articles of Confederation" are. If you asked 100 Teabaggers what the Articles of Confederation are, 87 of them would respond that it was memorabilia from the Civil War.

Amazingly, these idiots who "claim" to love the Constitution sooooo much, worship a failed document that our Constitution replaced.

How bad was it under the Articles of Confederation? Well, here's one take from the "pinko-commie-big gubmint" guy, George Washington.

George Washington had been one of the very first proponents of a strong federal government. The army had nearly disbanded on several occasions during the winters of the war because of the weaknesses of the Continental Congress. ... The delegates could not draft soldiers and had to send requests for regular troops and militia to the states. Congress had the right to order the production and purchase of provisions for the soldiers, but could not force anyone to supply them, and the army nearly starved in several winters of war.

Yeah, that was "good times" under the AOC, huh?

Plus, women would be kept barefoot and pregnant. Children would be intimately acquainted with the rod which wouldn't be spared. Justice would be meted out with lynchings because who can afford the court costs? Lily white would be the color of the true citizen and all others would be relegated to serf status. Slavery would be brought back because, really, who should be forced to pay minimum wage?

Although education would be discouraged, going to church on Sunday's and Wednesdays would be obligatory and include a stiff punishment if not followed to the letter.

And the President would be God's chosen so he (never she) would only have to answer to God and never to the people.

6. It would look like South Carolina on
RW steroids. This state still has a semblance of sanity with some of the people who do work and live here and keep pushing back. There is still a basic adherence to some universal standards that are delineated in the Constitution and under the law. A lot of people talk big, but right now, talk is the sum of it.

Every protection we now take for granted such as laws against discrimination and voting rights would fly out the window. These measures aren't enough at times as it is but what they do curtail would roar back. in addition, there would be a wholesale movement to a strict theocracy. People always assume it won't happen because they underestimate those nuts and overestimate the power of the masses who don't agree to coalesce and push back.

The teabags are mean spirited, violent and flat out hateful. Archie was ignorant but had a heart of gold and regularly stood up for other people. No comparison whatsoever IMHO.

10. It would be like Nazi's all over again.. Look at what the Bachman's do to teh gays now.
They literally try to change them with a program... Already, "re-education" type of program.. Think about that implemented thru out the USA. I'm quite sure those who didn't play by their pre-designed rules of what an "American" was, would be sent off to some sort of detention camp for their own good. (I doubt anyone missed Santorum's response to the DADT question or the audiences booing of a uniformed soldier serving his country. (He certainly didn't look like the stereotypical homosexual they think of when they think gay; they are afraid the are going to "catch" it or that the soldier was brainwashed into being gay). AND we already know if people don't have enough money and they get sick, the response is to die. So, someone with a handicap would be pushed off into a camp or probably experimented on like was done back in Nazi times. The only poor people allowed to live amongst them would be their "servant" class. I'm assuming all brown people would def be rounded up and "sent back home", even if they had lived in this country their entire lives or from a small age.

It would be a fascist/ feudal society with an overzealous "Christian" fervor (Christian in only self-described ways-- not the true teachings). It would be the worst place on earth to live. Its why its refreshing to hear someone like Elizabeth Warren speak and draw a crowd back to sanity and places the righteous blame of the economic troubles squarely onto these corporations that are bleeding us dry. People like her scare the PTB because their voices and passions and values are the voices of reason, logic, and compassion. Its what we need more of to rise up out of the grass roots.

Uganda would be the model for how the country deals with homos. All Muslims would be crucified if they "dont go back home." And let's not talk about what would happen to libraries.

21. Well...
I think it would saliently involve the prospect of never-ending internal "war", where they would constantly manufacture liberal candidates to run against and defeat. Keep the threat alive, after all.

After a while, I think it would take on at least SOME aspects of reverse totalitarianism. Americans would be subtlely encouraged to NOT be politically active and to simply feast on their own warped religiosity, hatred, and money worship. Certainly, liberal and true freedom focused values would be unwelcome in public space. The government would actually get quite big but no one would call this out anymore.

People would be generally poor, and the economy shit (for the non-super rich anyway), but just as now people would be obsessed with the aspirational dream that it's temporary and one day they'll be rich, too.

Awful things like that.

23. Margaret Atwood wrote a book about a similar future:
"The Handmaid's Tale" about a theocratic plutocracy;
based on 'biblical' themes of misogyny and male dominance.
It ain't too far from what the Tea party dreams of.

Too bad they don't support education, don't read, don't think, don't look at the big picture.
