Rep. pig Rick Perry bleating falsely about the evils of "government run healthcare"

I just saw a videro clip of Perry ranting on about how evil Universal health care is. As a Canadian, living in a country where we have universal health care...let me say that it is not government run and the government DOES NOT come between me and my doctor or the hospital or any of the other evils he is enumerating. The government's only function is to pay the bills!
Last year the opponents of Universal health care in the U.S.A were featuring an ad the Canadian Shona Holmes did for American right wingers...based on a lie. This ad, where Shona says she would have died in Canada with a brain cancer because the government wouldn't allow her timely treatment is a bald-faced lie. In the first place she didn't have a brain tumor!. What she had (and the reason why she was given a few months to wait in Canada) was a condition called Rathke's Cleft Cyst, on her pituitary gland. "Rathke's Cleft Cysts are not true tumors or neoplasms; instead they are benign cysts." The medical community in Ontario, where she lives, knew this and scheduled other, urgent cases ahead of her for surgery....which is quite reasonable.
Not only is this TV ad being played all over the U.S.A., but she has been interviewed on Fox TV and other places, spewing her lies. I believe this ad may have had an influence on the American public, causing some to resist Universal Health Care. Shona Holmes was working with some group trying to privatize our health care in Canada, in order to make money.
I, myself have recently had great medical care (including specialists) and have paid not one cent.
If they ever tried to take our universal care away from Canadians...there would be a REVOLT!
I pray that you in the U.S.A. can get your own Universal health care!

If government is paying the bills, it is regulating and controlling the costs.

I don't understand why universal health care supporters try to run from the fact that government runs the plan.

5. Making rules for how private for-profit or non-profit companies provide

health insurance IS NOT GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTH CARE.

I expect the RW to lie, smear, exaggerate, mis-represent, and deceive. It's inexcusable that dem leaders, pundits, and the supposedly independent media let this meme persist without pointing out what is true and accurate. They let 'death panels' and claims of socialism, rationing, fraud and abuse and inefficency, and government takeover be the dominant meme.

The health care program is less a government take over of health care than requiring seatbelts in cars is a government takeover of the automobile industry.

4. They pretend what they call "Obamacare" will be mandatory.

They frighten people into assuming they'll have to give up their private plan or Medicare and switch to a government policy. The Affordable Care Act is only for those with no health care plan. Nothing, and anything is better than that.

If you listen to their arguments, they always speak of how they don't want to be on government health care because blah blah blah, and it's not as good as what they already pay for blah blah. No it isn't dumbass, it's a safety net for the working class.

Limbaugh has a list of fictional Canadians who deride their "socialized medicine". He hints that they long for our system. This doesn't hold water because there is such a thing as "Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Canada". If Canadians want "our system" all they have to do is make a phone call and the insurance giant will be glad to take their money.

And my cheap ass employer who signs us up for a fly by night insurance company...

So having my employer and an insurance company between me and my doctor is SOOOOO much bettet...
