Did my bit today. Requested and got change from FAUXNEWS on new dentist's TV. |
|
Again they tell me that what I have is a case to be written up. All I want is normal people's problems thank you.

1. And an iPAQ 3115, so cheap on eBay. |
|
Comes with Nevo, a universal remote. Mute the waiting room TV, change its channel, or turn the damn thing off. No one will know how it happened.
I adore mine.

9. Except, as of tonight, I can no longer download library books to Mobipocket. |
|
The library dumped Mobipocket in favor of Kindle.

3. I wrote a formal letter of complaint to VA Medical Center about having to sit and listen to FOX |
|
I hate having to wait at the VA medical center because they have Fox news on all the tv's. So I wrote a formal letter of complaint to the chief medical officer at the VA hospital in Marion, Illinois. The next time we went back, Fox was not playing on a single TV. That lasted for several months but last week, they were back to having Fox news on again. So, I think we will have to purchase one of those tv turn off things. Part of the problem with the VA here playing FOX is that you have a lot of crusty old red neck veterans who join right in with FOX news in voicing their opinions. At times, I have felt I was in the middle of a tea party rally right there in the VA waiting area. One time I just couldn't take it anymore and got up and left and sat out in the main entrance until my husband was done with his appointment.

I never mentioned this before, but in my husband's pain management doctor's waiting area last month, I just went up to the t.v. & changed the channel from Fixed News, despite the "do not touch" note posted on the side. I saw the nurse behind the glass look up & I sensed that it irritated her.
Sure enough, she came into the waiting area & in a huffy manner, went from table to table picking up magazines & loudly re-stacking them.
I was amused & had to say something.
I told my husband when she was near, "I can't take listening to that fake news crap. I'd rather listen to STATIC before I'd watch that channel."
She never said a word or changed the channel back. I think we read each other clear enough.
Every time we've been there -- & there have been MANY visits -- the t.v. was set on CNN; this was the first time it was on Fixed News.

7. Same thing while waiting for the wife at the Dentist office. |
|
The wife went in for her appointment and I changed the channel to CNN the cable didn't have MSNBC. The mother of the teenage girl in the waiting room came back and said who changed the channel and the girl smiled and pointed at me and the mother left in a huff, while the other daughter had her teeth cleaned. It continues to amaze me the numerous places of business that have Faux news on.

8. Weren't you a little worried about going to a new dentist that had |
|
Faux Snooze on in the 1st place? What does that say about his intellegence and judgement? You probably should have just turned around and marched out of the office. How important is your dental hygiene after all?
OTOH maybe it's the receptionist who is the scum sucking teabagger, in which case you should have reported her to the dentist so he could deal with the situation

10. I thought about leaving but I was on day 3 of unbearable pain |
|
My dentist and his predecessor were both out of town.
The receptionist apologized and changed the station said that she had just left it on the station that came on.
I was just barely able to drive the couple miles there.
I was treated well and have an immediate affordable treatment plan for a complex situation.
If I were just buying something or it was routine care I would have just left but in this case I could not as if the pain got any worse I would pass out or possibly gone into shock.
So given the fact that talking triggered the pains asking for the channel to be changed and explaining why was all I could do.
