Live blogging from the New Hampshire mid-term Democratic State Convention!
It just convened and will include an address from Debbie
Wasserman-Schultz, the new DNC Chair.

I'll keep folks posted on the activities, but if you have any
messages for us, speak out!

Tesha

2. I love political conventions. So many people to talk to who
generally are in agreement with you. Have a great day there!

Annie MacLaine-Kuster, our candidate for the 2nd CD is speaking now...
She narrowly lost to Charlie Bass in 2010 (in her first run
at office) and is coming back strong for 2012!

5. Each of the candidates so far has called/is calling for TRADITIONAL DEMOCRATIC VALUES...a
...such as labor rights, women's rights, and gay riights. The state office
Candidates are calling for the defense of our Equal Marriage rights in
New Hampshire.

And they're calling for sensible economic policies and that the Democratic
candidates speak FROM A POSITION OF STRENGTH because our policies
are CORRECT and our opponents policies ARE WRONG.

Hear hear!

He just made the point that I made here on DU the other day: Gunira,
The Freshman ncumbent, was named one of the 15 most-corrupt members of
Congress.

"Can you imagine what it takes to be named one of the *15* most-corrupt
Members of Congress?"

It's a crowded field but these are all GREAT candidates -- the shame is that
We can't elect them all!

8. Finally, Carol Shea-Porter, who held the First CD seat until the wipe-out of 2010.
She's contrasting what the Democratic House had accomplished versus
What the 2010 Republican Congress has "accomplished".

9. Kathy Sullivan, former Chair of the State Party, is giving out an award now.
One down note -- She did one of the traditional call-outs of the form
of "and we're going to take back the Statehouse!" (massive applause
and cheering) "and we're going send our Democrats to Washington!"
(massive applause and cheering) "and I'm so very proud that we're
going to re-elect Barack Obama!"

That last remark, at the New Hampshire State Democratic Party
2011 Midterm Convention, only got about 75-80% of folks even
applauding.

Oh my!

10. We just heard from Jackie Cilley who gave a barn-burner of a speech, outlining Democratic...
...values from top to bottom.

And now we're hearing from Ray Buckley, the State Party chairman. He's
going after the state-level Republicans with a vengeance! And rightfully so!
He actually used the words "they lie"!!!

Mr. Tesha and I both went to a session about the Free State Project.

Now, he's off at a session about messaging and using social media
while I'm off at a session teaching me about running for office.
Can you say "State Rep Tesha"?

13. Anyone who has the chance should..
attend their convention. We got to schmooze and see old friends, we got to
see folks enthusiastic about our chances for next year, we were treated to
some excellent barn-burners, we came away with plans and bumperstickers...

but mostly we had a chance to be proud of who we are.

It felt damned good.
