From 2009, Time Magazine's "25 People to Blame for the Financial Crisis"
http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/completelist/0,29569,1877351,00.html

This is a good list populated mostly by financial institution execs who created Option ARM loans, NINJA and Liar loans, MBS, and other unregulated toxic instruments.

quick notes:

1-Sorry, DU - no Tim Geithner but Alan Greenspan is at the top of the list.

2-Sorry, TeaBaggers - no Barney Frank (nor should he be - Limbaugh lies)

3-Bernie Madoff is the only one in prison.

4-The American Consumer is on the list - no question that we gorged on too much debt.

5- The worst of the subprime merchants (Angelo Mozilo) was indicted but settled for a $67 million fine and lifetime ban from serving as an executive at a public company.

4. Bill Clinton + George Bush + Phil Gramm + Chris Cox= failure of government
In the end this was a failure of government oversight.

We will probably always have a few bad players out there, but when almost everyone is doing it, there is something wrong with the system and that goes to the government.
