I spoke to a worker in my local Ralphs (Kroger) today, and I asked her if they'd ratified their contract...
She said they had, on Friday.
She didn't know how the voting had gone except that a majority had voted for it.
She also said it was a lot better than what we'd heard...the bit about no raises for 2 years and carrying so much more of their health insurance costs was gone.
She looked happy.
I suspect management is also happy. She did say they didn't want a strike either. And she confirmed that very few scabs had signed up.
What a relief!
