NYPD commanding cops much more abusive than rank and file cops during Occupy Wall Street
Edited on Mon Sep-26-11 10:01 PM by RagingInMiami
It's pretty evident from the videos, but I did several interviews today with people who confirmed this.

That's pretty rare. Usually it is the rank and file cops getting all aggressive while the commanders try to keep the peace.

There has also been unconfirmed rumors that more than 100 rank and file cops refused to come to work today in solidarity with the protesters. That would be big if it turns out true.

Either way, it seems as if the rank and file cops are a little sympathetic or in agreement with what the protesters are angry about.

Here is the article I just posted.

2. I wonder if it's because the brass has been exposed to the feds
too much, enough to lose the sense of community.

10. The cops in Wisconsin have been kool they know what’s at stake
The ones to watch out for are the State Patrol who are acting as ‘Palace Guards’ and they are outside their state mandate. Our governor Herr Walker is reported to have Wackenhut goons which are his body guards and drivers.

when they come out on a the street they usually f--k up things. I know. They juggle statistics and charts they don't work & play well with others. They are more concern about making the number chart goals in their compstat reports.

i read your blog. there's a comment there suggesting the FBI as a source of possible recourse for those being arrested without due cause.

15. Good to see you, RIM

I think the PTB are scared shitless. That's why there's a virtual blackout on any news about this protest.

That's why they took the brass aside and said "Nip it in the bud."

They are truly freaked out and are afraid this will spread if they don't try to contain it with brute force.

And to those who are criticizing the production qualities of the protest: Protests in the sixties were scattered and often unfocused and they started out small, here and there.
then they grew....

I remember the sixties. Many here weren't born yet. They need sparkles and theme music and coordinated accessories.

Kudos to the kids who are out there protesting. They see past the shiny thing.
