Okay, this is a little funny: Ice cream mascot mistaken for KKK clan member. |

9. You learn everything you need to know about Ocala driving to it. |
|
Lots of anti-abortion billboards, and occasionally, the anti-Liberal ones too.

11. The outskirts of Central Florida are very red. |

Alachua County is the only very bright blue spot. I think Orlando tends to purple-blue.

17. I know a woman who taught there, she said it was an awful place. |
|
Edited on Tue Sep-27-11 12:24 PM by Odin2005
She left because she was being sexually harassed by her principal. She told be that she ran into more sociopathic people there than anywhere else she has lived. She taught in cockroach-ridden trailers because there was no money to expand the schools.

13. I guess I could see it |
|
All a speeding motorist is likely to see is a guy in a white hood.
And when the brain sees something it doesn't understand, it tends to fill it with whatever it does understand.
Still, it should have given someone pause wondering what the Klan had to do with ice cream sandwiches.

14. I can see how from a distance people who had never seen KKK gets might have been confused by this. |
|
Yes, it's not full length like typical Klan regalia and it has sprinkles, but the general shape of the head gear is right. Too bad the waffle cone portion of the costume didn't extend down the legs. That would have made what it was rather obvious. Bad costume design!
I once worked on a project where we hired a novice designer to come up with a logo. It was conceptually right on target, but the execution was flawed -- it included a baseball cap drawn sideways and the rendering made it look a bit too phallic -- back to the drawing board!
