What would be the single thing that could change the political crisis we face in your opinion |
|
I know this is simplistic..but I think..end all corporate lobbyists and corporate campaign contributions ..forever.
At least it would be a good start.

Your ideas are probably more realistic.
Though alien invasion stands almost as much of a chance of happening . . .

10. lol..i was thinking about the reason we have no voice and that being the corporations |
|
which own the elected representatives..the protesters on wall street are there because we have no voice. Eliminating campaign contributions from corporations and eliminating lobbyists would balance the playing field. I think its possible if a couple hundred million americans demand it.

5. Did he drop it, or did he just set it to the side for the time being? |
|
I do not believe a word he says anymore. I'll start listening to him again as soon as I see a result, as soon as he successfully negotiates with Republicans, when he does something for us rather than his corporate masters. Just standing in front of a podium is nothing, its meaningless. To be honest about it I think all the bold talk he is coming up with now is just the same old campaign crap he fed us three years ago. The man is great at making people think he's going to do something for them when he's talking, but he hasn't proved to be worth much when it comes to constructive actions for the majority of Americans.
So I'll praise him when he does something worthy of praise, and wagging his tongue in front of friendly audiences ain't it.

period. No more filibuster, no more secret holds, and by the way fix the electoral college the same way. Gerrymandering has destroyed our democracy.

15. It might help if we were to go back to a 2-Party System. |
|
Now days there is just one great big Party that goes by two names. Maybe if there were two parties that you could easily distinguish from each other it would help.

21. If our economic system faced a total financial meltdown on the eve of a general election and |
|
progressives were really united around a candidate campaigning on a message of real change who was then elected in a sweeping mandate. The corporate lobbyist and Wall Street gang would then be completely marginalized and with little voice in the new administration they would not be able to stop the forces of progress. Yes that would do it. For sure it would.
