might win. He knows he doesn't want that responsibility.

Really listening to all these talking heads trying to predict who will be the Repug nominee - they are all really sounding totally silly. They all gravitate to the Repug flavor of the week each week. The Repugs don't have anyone that can beat Obama and they know it.

1. More likely he has the equivalent intellect of at least a snail
and knows that whoever wins this next election, pretty much dooms his party for a decade at least.

10. i think that actually stupid people don't generally make it to the realms

where christie presently dwells. venal, obsequient, corrupt, conniving - but not stupid.

it never ceases to amaze me how eager people are to paint their political opponents as "stupid". if they were merely stupid they wouldn't be a threat. they are not stupid.

michael parenti's riff on this tendency is instructive.

7. Actually, I don't think that's the case. I think he's fairly sharp, judging by his

ability to think on his feet in the forums i've seen him in.

he's a snake, that goes without saying, but i don't think he's stupid at all.

he went to livingston high school which serves kids from a city with a median income of $120K. a "good school" with that demographic.

u of delaware & seton hall. wife an investment banker, himself US atty for nj, not the profile of a moron.

3. Everybody repeat after me
The republicans are in disarray! The republicans are unenthusiastic! The republican voters are going to stay home in droves! The republicans are going to lose the house, big time! I mean, after all, saying that about the democrats in 2010 was all the rage.

4. Christie might be one of the sane ones...
It's really hard to tell. I don't know what kind of policies he espouses, probably not good ones, but perhaps he has had a good idea or two. I have heard his comments on the Tea Party and they are not flattering in fact he out right insults them and calls them the crazy wing of the Republican Party, something like that I paraphrase. In any case, I can't blame him for not wanting to be the sacrificial lamb, because he is doomed if he runs and loses and doomed if he runs and wins.

8. he's a snake. he's "sane" in the sense that he's not a media creation like
palin or a loon like bachmann, but the policies he's implementing are fascist.

i think you can be sane and be in favor of fascist policies, so i don't think sane is the dividing line here.

6. You may be right, but my impression of this man is that
he has some (deep, dark) secrets that he fears would be revealed.

He just doesn't strike me as an honorable man. I also think he might be a good politician, but my bet he's a lousy & lazy administrator.

:hi:
