2 Pieces Of Cardboard and a Black Felt Marker. and a Cop

Driving my wife to work this morning there was a car in front of us that had anti abortion stickers almost all over the entire surface of the exterior so I reached in the back seat for two pieces of cardboard and had my wife get the Sharpie out of the glove box and write the following on the 4 sides..

....2 Bad Your

.... Mother Made Mistake

.......And Did Not Have

......U Aborted...Brainless
God Gave Us Choice
Respect That

I then drove next to him and wife started to flash the cards at him, after the last card he flipped us off and speedily drove off...about 2 miles down the freeway a cop had him pulled over looking at his license and registration....

1. Sorry. I have to unrec.
Distracting drivers is a bad idea and potentially dangerous. Further, suggesting that person should have been aborted is not helpful to anything. I can't agree with your actions or strategy in this.

2. I imagine it's viscerally gratifying...
I imagine it's viscerally gratifying when someone who holds a different opinion than we do gets pulled over.

But then again, we all seem to enjoy forcing our opinions and beliefs (sometimes religious, sometimes political) down other people's throats-- so the incivility all the way around is not really a surprise.

4. Sorry, bad form. He is entitled to his belief even if I don't agree, it's
not an excuse to be a confrontational ass. I would feel differently if he was spouting his bile in line at the grocery store or something but I don't need freeway confrontations just because someone does not like my bumper sticker.

11. I think you're confusing "PC" with "manners"
I think you're confusing "PC" with "manners"; although I do realize that in our culture, it's much more convenient to conflate the two, allowing us to rationalize and then justify our own use of vulgarity.

However, I certainly haven't seen anyone state (or even imply) that any particular person is not entitled to an opinion...

10. Very sharp rhetorical knife you got there! A bit mean spirited but I can forgive that very easily.
It's a whole lot less mean than calling women at the clinic baby killers and murderers, and it's definitely nowhere near planting, say, a car bomb in front of the clinic or gunning down the doctors there.

17. If you cover your car with political crap you're looking for a response
You were a bit rude (and foolhardy) but that can be forgiven.

The driver of the other car clearly isn't seeing in shades of gray so why is it your responsibility to introduce them?

Sometimes confrontation works best with bullies.

More power to you.
