So the abortion protestors are back... |
|
They only appear during elections and for special events. I'm assuming there is some nasty legislation popping about either in DC or in FL. I'm rather sure these are paid operatives. Their signs are crisp and there are only about 5 during the week and a dozen on the weekends. They aren't there every single day. AND the clinic they are in front of isn't a Planned Parenthood. Just a private women's clinic that only provides abortions.

1. BTW; every day that I have to drive past them, I flip them off. |
|
I know its juvenile, but they really piss me off. I believe its time for me to take up my signs and stand beside the moron brigade.

2. Suggestion.....Pledge a picketer campaign |
|
Clinic staff keeps a monthly record of the number of people who have picketed the clinic. Pledge-A-Picketer participants make pledges based on the number of anti-Choice picketers that show up each month. For example, if you pledge $1 per picketer and 10 people picket the clinic in May, your pledge total would equal $10. You choose the amount of money, length of pledge, and maximum amount of picketers you will pledge. The Emma Goldman Clinic averages about 70 protesters per month (sometimes less).
To join the Pledge-A-Picketer campaign, you can fill out the form below or you can print out the form and mail/fax/email it to the clinic. If you have any questions about this campaign you can call the clinic

3. Its a very private Clinic. It seriously only services abortions. |

It is also in the "wealthier" area of where I live. I don't think they actually dare to set up shop for too long. It would be wealthier women and daughters that would be utilizing this particular clinic. It would not bode well to have them out there for too long. One really great thing about the location is that there are multiple businesses in a professional strip mall area. Its set back very far from the road with a large parking lot between the sidewalk and the offices. Up front closer to the road is a restaurant. Its about as discrete as a clinic could be and still be found by women that need to use the services. No one standing on the sidewalk with signs actually know what anyone is turning in for. So, they can't get in anyone's face or cause violence easily.

7. I was suckered into watching a video -- 180 movie? |
|
If you're interested, Google Ray Comfort and 180 movie.
He spends the first 15 minutes or so asking people if they would have, or could have, participated in the horrors of the holocaust, and he then proceeds to equate "state-sanctioned abortion" with the holocaust.
He goes on and on about the Ten Commandments and applies "thou shalt not kill" to abortion and, of course, talks about the people who "advocate for the murder of babies in the womb."
He doesn't, however, discuss whether or not he supports the death penalty or war. Those I know who follow him do, and I try to point out the contradiction and suggest they refer to themselves as "anti-abortion" rather than "pro-life."

8. Supposing abortion is made illegal -where would they protest since there won't be |
|
any "abortion clinics"? It will still be happening, but they won't know where it's done or who's having it done, nor the conditions and procedures that are used --just like in Mexico. Out of sight, out of mind.

9. Oh, the women will know, because they will also be in the alleys and back rooms having abortions. |
