NOBODY was in the House today except for a few key players, |
|
and some bill(s?) passed on a verbal vote. Anybody catch the specifics on Bashir?
I heard something about de-funding PBS, slashing Pell Grants, and some other things the Republicans have been chomping at the bit to do.
Anybody know what's going on? This is scary - and infuriating!
Thanks.

1. Maybe they're looking to polish |
|
up the resume for the next election cycle. It always seems that the majority party, usually it's the pukes but not always, manage to jam some bills through that don't have a hope in hell of even being brought up in the Senate. They do this so the next time some neanderthal Jim-Bob yammers at them about taxes and guns at a town hall they can say... "Hey look at my bill that just gone done passed Jim Bob"

6. Part of it was some compromise funding thing, they wanted no recorded vote |
|
I do not recall what the funding was for but there as some kind of supplemental they wanted to pass and no one wanted to be on the record as voting for. So they decided to pass it in a floor vote. There was some concern that one of the Tea Baggers would be there and stand and demand a recorded vote - which the bill could not pass. Apparently that didn't happen.
