Which Congressional/Senate seats are "in-play" for 2012?
I live in what used to be considered a solid-blue district. (OR-1st, Portland, David Wu's seat). It's now very much in play with a bunch of nobody Dems against a rich, media-savvy, and semi-sane Rethug.

Shout out from around the country. Which other Congress and Senate races are in danger of shifting red?

And just as important, which seats do we have a real chance of shifting blue?

1. Hopefully Joe Manchin (D. WV) can be tossed out on his ear and a Democrat elected.

2. One third of the Senate and all of the House *should* be replaced.
Let a whole fresh crop of weasels line their pockets.

5. Leave our Senators alone please! Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkely might not be perfect...
but they are both smart and "real" liberals and about as ethical as it's possible for a Senator to be. They will both have my enthusiastic re-election support. Fortunately, neither looks like their seat is in danger.

I'm unemployed and disabled, so my energy and money are limited. Most of mine will be going into the OR-1st race, but I can occasionally afford to send $10 to another candidate. I just can't afford to waste it, and want it to go where it might actually make a difference.

7. One can, from time to time, read posts/threads about congress failing,
or underperforming members of that congress, some of whom transgress the laws of society and/or morality. But it's always "the other senator/representative - mine is one of the good ones."

They are weasels. If they are not weasels when they take office, they are soon infected by weaselry. Lobbyists ply them with gifts and 'campaign donations', they become accustomed to power and perks, and they soon forget about 'we the people' and begin to concentrate on their own reelection.

The slogan for D.C. might well be "Of all the words so big and fine, the best are these: 'I got mine.'"

8. I agree, to a point. It's probably impossible to avoid "Weasel Syndrome" in the Senate., but...
Wyden and Merkeley have done better than most, and might be the most effective "Blue" Senatorial team out there.

I'd love it if we could quit shooting ourselves in the foot.

3. Scumbag Liebermans Senate seat in CT
is in play. Right now I'm pretty happy with the situation and am cautiously optimistic that it will turn blue again since that droopy jowled asshole was elected last time.

As an unfortunate side effect to that seat turning blue is that the likely winner of it would be Chris Murphy who is the current holder of CT district 5. He's managed to hold off some serious puke challengers since he took the seat from the republicans in 2008. I don't know who would be on tap to fill in for him if he wins the Dem position for the Senate seat but it will likely be a challenge.

Right now anyway it's looking like the rest of CT is fairly stable and pretty bright blue.

Of course it's all just IMO

Here's the link, I will do whatever I can to help her get elected to the Senate, and I pray that she's a serious presidential candidate in 2016.

9. Conrad (D) seat is lost in the Senate, Webb is 50/50, NM is 50/50
The Senate Dems are a big underdog to retain a majority!

GO OBAMA - save us from the Teabaggers!

10. Agreed on those races.
I'm worried about Claire McCaskill in Missouri as well. But I think we have a solid chance of turning Scott Brown seat's blue, and picking up John Ensign's seat isn't out of the question.

Whether we will still have 50 seats (51, if Obama loses) in the Senate in January is going to be tight. We definitely have thirteen tough months ahead of us!
