Wall Street mentality and reactions to Occupy Wall Street |
|
It's interesting to see reactions to Occupy Wall Street. Some think that by shoving their bad behavior in their faces, they will change.
My thoughts are that they won't. Wall Street will not change unless they are FORCED to change. They have this idea that unless something forcibly stops them, everyone is fair game. They are predators. Do deal with predators by having to fight them. It isn't by using force, necessarily, it's by so much of their "prey" standing up and saying "Hell no" that they have no choice but to change.
I won't hide it - I LOVE Occupy Wall Street.

3. Know about George Anderson ? Crushed Flo Cioffi with an SUV, drunk, fled scene 5 blocks from NYSE. |
|
Wall Street CEO.
Going up Water Street at 60 m.p.h. after a Rangers hockey game, January 2008. Flo was trying to hail a cab.
Vehicular Manslaughter admitted with DUI reduced to a misdemeanor -- two weeks in Rikers, $350 fine.
Btw: recall the carriage scene from "Tale of Two Cities" ? A coin tossed into the mud....
This is the George Anderson Era.

That's my opinion, and I will support OWS as wholeheartedly as I can.

11. "We" don't mean a goddamned thing. They hate us. |
|
Not to the Top 1% By Wealth.
Read the old 1927 book from Upton Sinclair titled "Oil!" for a character that succeeds mightily at modern capitalism. "James Arnold Ross" in the book becomes "Daniel Plainview" in the movie adaptation "There Will Be Blood" with a spectacular performance from Daniel Day-Lewis.
Competition driven by hating other people -- that's the bottomless well. The arrogance is kinda superficial in comparison. They hate us for our weaknesses and our attachments to each other.

6. They don't give a fuck |
|
they've been stepping over people for years. Without their finance degrees they'd be some other sort of predator.

9. +1. I am reminded of the Iraq War AntiWar protests.... |
|
The POB - they Do.Not.Give.A.Fuck.
we are less than a mosquito on the irritation scale. In fact, I believe they are happy to see demonstrations - kind of a bread and circus outlet. "Yay! go proletariat! Just don't mess up my lunch date" (which we wouldn't since we don't go to expensive restaurants since we cant afford it).
Anonymous and other cyber hackers have the right idea - we need to be much more sneaky, devious and hit them where it hurts mentality. Street demonstrations are very passe in a cyber world. If you want to make a dent, hit them in their soft underbelly.
