1. I have to laugh ... GWB talked tough and did jackshit for eight years.
Obama takes down terrorist after terrorist, to include Fish Food "Smoke 'em Outta His Hole" Osama, and he's quiet about it.

11. "Jackshit"?
I agree with the sentiment but two wars, trillions spent, thousands of soldiers killed, tens of thousands of soldiers injured and hundreds of thousands of civilians dead isn't exactly "jackshit".

Unfortunately, George "Worst President Ever" Bush II did PLENTY...

15. Well, he did do plenty, but none of it good; thus "Jackshit."
I'm sure you're not lauding his record with your commentary. He did nothing of any positive consequence whatsoever, save leave office--pity it wasn't sooner.

3. We can certainly thank them for setting the precedent of assassinating American citizens.
I expected that that particular anti-Constitutional policy would have been discontinued under Obama.

Just goes to show that a power, once asserted by a government, is not so easily taken back.

We need a liberal Supreme Court more than ever.

5. Carry your logic on to drug dealers or mafia members
When do we stop assassinating people without a trial?

Don't you care about the rule of law?

13. Sure I do. What would you suggest in this case...let him continue
his terrorist activities, planning and killing Americans? I know what...let's just wait until he turns himself in.

9. I'm saying that the government doesn't have the right to execute an American citizen without a trial

6. Bringing up Bush and Cheney is interesting
because the power to assassinate Americans without due process was a power even they didn't claim.

10. They actually did claim that power, and they exercised it.

After the Sept. 11 attacks, Bush gave the CIA, and later the military, authority to kill U.S. citizens abroad if strong evidence existed that an American was involved in organizing or carrying out terrorist actions against the United States or U.S. interests, military and intelligence officials said.

12. There was commentary on NPR this morning about how Obama got little politcal profit from OBL's death
My reaction was: good. I'm glad they got OBL, and AaA, but I don't think that politicians should gain political capital on the basis of assassinations. Consider the ramifications the next time there's a Repuke president in office.
