maybe think of the constitution as the "prime directive"
And "due process" being a part of that.

2. My favorite was Dr. Crusher in "First Contact"
When she called up to have the woman (Lily?) beamed up for medical care and said to the captain, "and don't start with me on the Prime Directive."

3. Star Trek had an episode about the Yangs and Kohms that would be
very pertinent today.

Although I remember very little specifics...

4. Yes. That was a great episode.
I loved it when Kirk started reciting the U.S. Constitution Preamble with feeling, pointing out to them how they'd misinterpreted and what the words really meant.

Thanks to YouTube, here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3b56e0u0EgQ

5. "They apply to everyone, or they mean NOTHING! Do you understand?"
It was nice of that Canadian fellow to spell it out so kindly for us.

6. Indeed.
Sometimes those Canucks (and others) see things from a distance that we don't see close up or have forgotten.

11. When Canada has it's 9/11
We'll see how they feel about it, and what they do.

7. ha! watched that - in the comments someone just YESTERDAY called
out the Teabagger Yangs for misunderstanding "WE the People".

I don't remember - what did Yang and Kohm refer to?

8. Good!
In the episode, if I remember correctly, the equivalency seemed to be "Yanks" and "Communists." We were still in Cold War mode back then.

9. I think a lot of folks here would be very comfortable with the "Ee Plebnista".
They really don't care much for the actual documents,
just the popular-culture version of it.
