1. The Supreme Court has placed a limit of 48 hours
...on the time between arrest and bringing someone before a judge.

3 hours would have been more reasonable.

Ridiculous that this guy is still in jail for supposedly jaywalking around 4PM.

2. Yeah... and with 3 others in a cell built for one. And no working toilet.
What a dump. Is that the best facility JP Morgan could buy?

7. The JP Morgan money was earmarked for new computers in squad cars
...to make the cops feel indebted to JP Morgan.

That money didn't go to improving jails.

11. it is not enforced.
I've been held for more than 48 hours in Indiana without access to a phone, much less a judge.

12. OK, thanks.
The time-limit should be shortened with more serious consequences for officials who ignore it.

5. That's cool. Surprised they didn't take the phones. Hint to authorities:
Lock 'em up and make a generation of seasoned activists.. at your peril

6. A lot of them have been released. 18 people from my school were arrested, I didn't go as I was
taking the LSAT, but I've been calling with other people since 5:00 trying to account for everyone and five of them have been released.
