Happy Birthday Mahatma.
Edited on Sun Oct-02-11 05:51 AM by ixion

There are millions of us who continue your work today. Thank you for what you did in your all too brief time here on Planet Earth.

Please k/r if you believe in change through non-violence.

Mohandas Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in Bristish India. He became the pre-eminent political and ideological leader of India during the Indian independence movement. He pioneered a belief in resistance to tyranny through mass civil disobedience, based on total nonviolence. This concept helped India to gain independence, and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world.

4. Yes indeed - Gandhi was a great man
In his words - A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history.

5. I was about to post something sad about how far we've fallen
but then, it isn't about where we are, it's about what we are doing about it. And so many, myself included, consider Mahatma Ghandhi a continued inspiration. Thank you for what you did while you were here and what your acts continue to do to this day.

9. Something he says that still rings true.
Edited on Sun Oct-02-11 09:20 AM by Skidmore
“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”

and add:

“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed”
