Let's say in a Central American country, a group of trained |
|
terrorists and killers were wreaking havoc in villages in the countryside. Let's say these people were armed and trained and given logistics and propaganda support by people living in the US. Would you be ok if the government of that country sent drones around the US in the countryside and cities killing people they believed were connected to these operations?

1. Maybe the citizens of that country would try to impeach their sitting President |
|
If they thought he was breaking the law, I don't know?

My question didn't provide any information on said country's laws or public opinion in that country. It was more a question of what we think.

2. i dunno, seems like sending drones around the countryside to kill |
|
people, including numerous innocent bystanders along with the allegedly guilty (no due process on that BTW, is this the new normal?) is an awfully slippery slope to be standing on for the US to claim it's higher ground.

3. That first part doesn't sound too hypothethical |
|
Isn't that what the US via the CIA did all throughout Central and South America?

6. It's not really. Just the country's response. |

4. The closer connection would be JSOC as an extension |
|
of the death squads Reagan, Bush operated in Central America, the Salvador Option globalized. Cheney was the ranking member of the Iran-Contra Select Committee and JSOC is his baby with McChrystal.

8. Are the people living in the US citizens of the US? |
|
Or the country being terrorized?

9. Maybe another way to look would be to imagine if the government of Haiti |
|
or Libya or Iraq or Somalia or Yemen or Afghanistan or Pakistan or Colombia or Cuba (am I leaving anyone out?) sent drones over here to counter the threats coming at them from the United States.

10. I'm sure it would not be OK with us |
|
It never is with the country being attacked.
Yemen did not have a problem with it though. Their government wants rid of AQ too, and with better reason - they are right there.
AQ does attack in Arab countries, too.

11. Will they be targeting our gated communities and resort cities, or just blighted urban centers? |
|
Because that might make a difference in how Americans would feel about constructing their answer.
Sad but true.
