$200,000 per job. Really?
So it seems some Reagen administration economist has shown his economic prowess by dividing the cost of Obama's jobs plan by the anticipated number of jobs. The result of this weighty, salient, difficult, (ir)relevant calculation is the cited $200K per job.

Can we take up a collection to send this guy an "I'm so fucking stupid I should not be allowed to reproduce" sign?

I know he's an economist and all, but how did he miss the stimulative value? The compounding of the money when spent and reintroduced into the economy?

Lots of other things that happen.

But most of all, if the money gets spent on infrastructure projects, we own that shit.

Has Hoover Dam not paid for itself many times over?

This was reported on tonight's ABC News. They focused only on the $200,000. They interviewed Geithner to justify it.

Geithner is a fucking moron. If this were my policy and he defended it as he did tonight, his ass would be unemployed tout de suite.

An honest media is no longer even a reasonable wish, let alone possible.

1. WOW.
Many have long wondered why Obama linked up with Geithner. :(

5. IMO Obama and this country would have been far better served if he had picked
other than Geithner and Bernanke.

3. so many positives...
Revenue increase as tax dollars form these jobs is added, (or paid back).
unemployment benefits NOT being paid out, but actually being replenished.
This added to the obvious increase in spending capitol.

4. Well, even if all the money went purely into salaries without creating anything
useful in the process (hard to imagine, but just for the sake of argument), it is only about two years worth of decent salary and benefits.
It is hard to imagine how a decent job could have been created for less.

6. There's also the cost of materials.
Unless they're going to be hiring people that can wish asphalt, concrete, and rebar into being, and if that's the case 200 grand is getting a pretty good deal.

7. Cost far less than giving millions in tax breaks
And just hope that some of that money goes to create a job.
