JP Morgan bribes NYPD
Source: JP Morgan Chase

New York City Police Foundation — New York

JPMorgan Chase recently donated an unprecedented $4.6 million to the New York City Police Foundation. The gift was the largest in the history of the foundation and will enable the New York City Police Department to strengthen security in the Big Apple. The money will pay for 1,000 new patrol car laptops, as well as security monitoring software in the NYPD's main data center.

New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly sent CEO and Chairman Jamie Dimon a note expressing "profound gratitude" for the company's donation.

"These officers put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe," Dimon said. "We're incredibly proud to help them build this program and let them know how much we value their hard work."

5. Is NYC not capable of raising revenue to support its
police department? Chase did not do that for no reason at all.

The NYPD is just a government-sponsored organized crime ring.

8. 4.6 mil for 1000 laptops?!?!?!
That's freakin' outrageous! Most of them only use them to play solitaire and look at pr0n on the Internet anyway! They don't need top of the line Panasonic Toughbooks too do that!

Maybe JP Morgan Chase is getting a kickback for a tax writeoff.

11. Why is it given to the Police Foundation instead of NYC?
That lends itself to corruption within the department. I bet there isn't any independent oversight of the funding.

12. The NYPD should have enough experience with 'big men' buying 'loyalty' with 'stolen' money. I'm sure
the NYPD would rather see such funding come to them through taxes. But that is why JPMorgan Chase doesn't want to pay taxes...because they want the influence and affiliation that comes with giving out the money to organizations they deem fit to exist. Bankers have property thus the police are important to them and get $$$. ACORN on the other hand does not get money from JP Morgan Chase. Wow. How they save money in the end when they control it all. They decide what organizations exist or function. What power. What hubris.

14. Why not this? 4.8 million supporters send $1.00 to Occupy Wall Street?
Edited on Mon Oct-03-11 02:38 PM by peacetalksforall
If JPM gets protection, why can't OWS at least get a higher level of two way communication witht the NYPD? Instead of corralling protesters into pens and arresting them - why not get the police to use loud speakers to warn protesters that anyone leaving the pedestrian walk and obstructing traffic on the auto drive would be arrested? 4.8 million to buy communication? Thay type of thing?

(If you're a blogger and want to repeat this - go ahead.)

People could round up ten to 25 to 100 people at $1.00 each and send it to an OWS leader account at a credit union so that there isn't a $1.00 transaction cost to the credit union.

The emphasis is on Credit Union, not JP or BofA or any other of the bail-out cheaters.

In addition to communication, use some of the money to house and transport the protesters over the winter?
