Anybody interested in having a DU meetup at Occupy Wall Street in NYC?

Anybody here interested in joining the protests on Saturday 10/9? We can put together plans about where and when to meet. We can join the protests and spread the name of DU.

Post in this thread if you're interested and maybe we can put something together.

22. Arrangements were made today for a DU - OWS connection SATURDAY October 8th at 11 AM.

At the Big Cube on the corner of Broadway and Liberty Street.

-- We are in favor of having a first DU Gathering for OWS on Saturday at 11 AM on October 8, 2011. The site is the big Cube on the Broadway side of Brown Brothers Harriman, at the corner of Broadway and Liberty.

-- A speaker from OWS will greet everyone from DU. A statement of purpose and an invitation to support OWS will be presented.

That site can accommodate 250 DU members and their friends easily. As many as 1,000 extra people related to DU can be incorporated into OWS plans for early Saturday afternoon.

15. I went today, it was great!

There were a lot more protestors than I expected, -- the most impactful were the grannies and the zombies. Wall Street was all blocked off, with special blockades in front of Tiffany's, Trump Tower and the Stock Exchange. The protestors were all organized in the park at the end of Wall Street near Broadway. There were people with signs and the cops watching over them, drum circles, organized food system for the protestors to eat. And clean and organized camping. I don't know how they endure staying there as it gets cold and the rain that is happening now.

I got a copy of the newspaper "Occupy Wall Street Journal" and some nice photos of the protestors doing some peaceful yoga, groups making signs, and the granny brigade.

I don't know how to post pics or make threads, so all I can do is describe.

19. You can start a thread using the "post" icon, (the one w/the pencil), near

the top of the page.

There are several good websites you can use to upload photos, I use photobucket. After you make a free acct, you can upload your pic's into folders of your own and once loaded, just follow the instructions to load what you want in the thread you created.

The first time around, I got baffled by the system, but it's easy once you get the hang of it.

There are other ways, and someone might help on that, but I use photobucket because I can edit out my bad pics, as well as store a host of things in a place where it's somewhat safe.

Give it a shot, but even if you don't upload pics, start a thread, enjoy, put your thoughts out here...we love the conversation...:hi:

23. I would if I could but not going to be anywhere near the NE any time soon but

am seriously thinking about #OccupyRaleigh but noticed the time is so late in the evening and it's an hour or so drive from me.

I'm itching to get out there and will be with you guys and gals in spirit!!
