Money orders only please, cannot cash checks yet. Non-perishable goods only. We can accept packages of any size. We're currently low on food.

Occupy Wall Street is leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders and political persuasions. The one thing we all have in common is that We Are The 99% that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%. We are using the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic to achieve our ends and encourage the use of nonviolence to maximize the safety of all participants.

5. May I add ::: the small tarpaulins 6' by 8' looked useful, plus ground cloths. 49-degrees right now.
It's wet. Sleeping on the ground with a sleeping bag works better with help above and below.

-- The small tarps (or plastic sheets) were popular on top to fend off rain. A lot of the people didn't have them.

-- Underneath, a ground cloth is typical camping gear. Add a yoga mat for extravagance.

That 49-degrees is going to come back up into the 50s for about a week. Then you will see things slide on down. I've seen snow on the ground on October 10th here, back before global warming.

Not sure how many of these people understand what they're in for. Manhattan is a damp environment at best. This is a tough town on homeless.

If you live in the City, donating a shower or a night under a roof can't hurt.

6. I think I've seen snow in NYC in October once.
It was on the backside of a noreaster. Generally it doesn't snow until December, though sometimes we get lucky and get hit in November.
