Rep. Cantor rejects Obama, says president's jobs package is dead
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) on Monday said President Obama’s jobs package is dead, rejecting the president’s demand hours earlier that Congress move his legislation by the end of the month.

Cantor said the House would not bring up the president’s American Jobs Act for a vote as a whole, but by the end of the month would move forward with elements supported by GOP leaders, including three pending trade agreements and a reduction in the withholding tax for businesses.

Other parts of Obama’s jobs package, such as extending and deepening an existing payroll tax for all workers, were still under discussion, Cantor said.

“The president continues to say, ‘Pass my bill in its entirety.’ As I’ve said from the outset, the all-or-nothing approach is just unacceptable,” Cantor told reporters on Monday.

2. Well, then, so is the Rethug's re-election potential, sir.
What you're not taking into account is that the American people know perfectly well that things will NOT improve if your party were to regain complete control again -- indeed, you aren't even bothering to lie to us about expecting jobs, health care and social security if you were to take over again. The Bush years isn't that far from our memories!

5. President Obama indicated he'd settle for parts of the jobs bill after initially taking a hard line.
No shock the GOP would cherry pick corporate friendly aspects of the plan and reject the rest. In view of recent history why would they do otherwise?

7. Here comes the cave--Obama's 'jobs' plan will
wind up being nothing but a bunch of free trade and tax cut for rich people provisions.

The President is a barely-relevant lame duck, and Cantor knows it.

I sincerely hope Democrats sabotage Romney with similar ruthlessness.

9. I really doubt that. Many of these Democrats in the House and Senate let Bush destroy everything.
What indication is there that the Democrats will agree to stand up and fight Romney or any other Republican who becomes president when they really weren't an effective opposition to many of George W. Bush's worst policies?

11. Don't care why he runs.
Want to know why we haven't been able to stick out a foot and trip him.
