The White House petition site is pretty cool

I don't expect much out of it, of course. But I've been enjoying myself scrolling through the petitions, seeing which ones are getting high signatures, and adding my own.

I assume that for every qualifying petition, the signators will simply get a two-sentence email saying "we thank you for your concern on this matter" but I like that these opinions are being stored on a .gov website. There's an official record, of sorts, of what is on the people's minds. Just browsing through them has been a fun journey, even without signing most of them :) Many of them are very interesting, and their counts are interesting as well.

finance reform! We've been abysmal in "piling on", so I'm going to take this opportunity to plug his petition, okay?

We all whine about it, but only 27 people have signed? :(

5. Some of the ideas are very interesting, things I would have never thought of

Things like giving the National Guard a greater decision-making role in military affairs, for example.

Even if one doesn't sign a damned thing, it's still worth a look!
