Reading commentary about various Occupy (City) experiences around the world is fascinating.
I live in a community that shares a name with a city in another country so I inevitably stumbled upon their communication. I don't think it would be fair to copy someone else's Facebook post, but I was touched by one young man's observation.

After encouraging their organizers to utilize the affinity group model and strive to avoid a breakdown in the democratic process that has been experienced in other cities he also said, "remember that while we may be in the 99% in our country- we are in the 1% of the world." Another person commented that anyone missing the message isn't paying attention. The goal is simply a fairer world for all humanity.

While this may sound naive, I don't think it is. We'll never have a perfectly fair world, but it is definitely possible to have a fairer one. Yes, we may disagree on the details of the policies to obtain a fairer world, especially one in which no person is left out. But I think much should be obvious. Corporatism and unmitigated greed has no place in a fairer world.

I encourage you to look at what other cities are doing and pay close attention to their communication. What is happening at the organizational level is just as important and fascinating as the bodies on the streets and the slogans on the signs. It's worth exploring.

1. You mean the US has to stop bombing, killing, and stealing from other countries?
That would surely be a nice change.
