Leaking sewer pipe causes Lakewood students to eat lunch in classrooms

http://wvgazette.com/News/201110042063

Students at Lakewood Elementary School in St. Albans ate their lunches in their classrooms on Monday to escape the stench of an old leaking sewer beneath the cafeteria's kitchen floor.

He said the pipe had rotted out over time, but that the new pipe repairs should be finished by Wednesday morning, when the kitchen will be "put back together and operational."

6. I don't think any sewer pipe has EVER leaked, ANYWHERE.
I'm really starting to take this whole 2012 thing more seriously. If sewer pipes suddenly need repairing, forcing kids to have lunch indoors for a day...well, it's all starting to unravel.

We have a little over a year left, by my estimation, as foretold by the first leaky sewer pipe in the history of humankind.

8. That we are doomed. A sewer pipe needs repair.
That spells doom. The OP said it themselves: they've never noticed one needing repair, so this must be the first one ever. Since sewer pipes are clearly meant to last forever without need to repair, the end times must be near.

Or we need to Occupy the Maker of the Sewer Pipe.

Your choice.

10. When I was in the 5th grade we spent the entire year eating lunch in our classrooms
My first teaching job was at a school with no cafeteria; we ate lunch in the classroom every day.

3. Infrastructure doesn't last forever.
Pipes get old, need to be replaced.
