Re-rewriting the Statue of Liberty's Inscription
Edited on Thu Oct-06-11 07:51 PM by HockeyMom
Inscription on the Statue of Liberty
Author: Emma Lazarus

Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses, yearning to breath free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest tossed,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

2011 Inscription by the 1%:

Stay OUT unless you are Straight, White, Christian, and RICH;
In addition, if you are already here and meet any of the Statue's former inscriptions, GET OUT, or DIE!

Edit: I added Straight to the list of "desirables"

1. Absolutely.
I really think we should insist that a sign covering up the original text and presenting something like yours should be placed on the Statue.

We should ADMIT what we've become.

Or we should change to what we should have been.
