8. I've often said that politics is 'sports for nerds' |
|
I love the horse race stories. I don't follow sports for the most part, so politics fills that gap.

11. I'll admit, I'm entertained |

It's funny to see which snowball's-chance-in-hell Repuke dingbat becomes the flavor of the week, only to shoot themselves in the foot as they ascend in the polls. It's sort of like watching someone skilled play Whack-A-Mole.

12. If they didn't have SUCH an impact on our lives, I might enjoy it, too. |
|
As it is, I'm terrified of not getting social security or medicare. They tell me they're taking it away from me and giving it to Wall Street. I totally lose my sense of humor when I hear that.

13. Well, those things are already in doubt anyway |
|
But I'd rather have our side figure out how to get out of this mess than their side.
I do think that there's a very real possibility that no one will come to the Repuke convention with a first-ballot victory in hand. I can see Romney getting his 23-30 percent, and Perry, Cain, and Bachmann limping towards the finish line with 20-30 percent of delegates each.

15. Here is a true story. |
|
The Seabiscuit Ranch in Mendocino County, CA, is at risk of being the next door neighbor to an asphalt plant. The proposed plant is now a rock quarry, zoned resource land. Some people with money have paid for an EIR which will change the zoning to industrial and allow them to cook asphalt. We will soon know if they also paid for the Mendocino County Supervisors.
