3%. Thats what they are calling class warfare.. a lousy 3 fucking percent |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-06-11 09:34 PM by SomethingFishy
I'm getting tired of all this bullshit about taxes. All anyone wants is for the rates to go back to where they were in the Clinton era. No one is asking for the old 1950's tax rate of 90%. Well not many anyway. Yet the way these wimps are crying daily about class warfare you'd think we were trying to get them to sell off 2 or 3 of their extra houses, drain their swiss bank accounts and take their Football Skyboxes away from them. If the people controlling most of the wealth are not interested in using some of that wealth to keep the country that gave them the opportunity to earn those outrageous bonuses moving forward so future generations can have the same opportunity then I say we start stripping motherfuckers of their citizenship. Lets see you go to China or Japan and try to make 475 times as much as your employees, that should go over real well.
And don't get me started on the goddamn 50% pay no federal income taxes meme. Of course 50% don't pay any fucking taxes, they have no fucking money! They control 2% of the wealth which for most is not enough to get from one week to the next without borrowing.
When you strip away all the politics and bullshit what this boils down to is the 1%, plus their idiot followers think that the way to fix the economy is to take more money from the people who have to decide whether to buy groceries or medication this week, and give it to the people who have to decide on the silver or gold seat belts for their private jet(that's a true Trump story by the way, gold seat belts on his new private jet).
Man this shit is all fucked up.
This is my first "OP" :)

Oh, and, I'd be fine with 90% rates on the tip top of the heap.

5. I think 75% of anything over 5 million a year |
|
would work. 75% is a lot but if you can't survive on 5 mil a year then you are the problem not the solution. But at this point a compromise would be to bring the rate back up the 3% and get rid of the cap on Social Security. Do that, bring back Glass-Steagal and legalize and tax weed and we'd be off to a great start.

6. Welcome to DU. Righteous rant. |

I am all for Clinton era tax rates and 1950s rates until the country is fixed.
Capital gains and Estate taxes rates should be raised.
There should be a transaction tax on the financial exchanges.
Jobs.

10. The taxes on the rich should go up everytime the price |

of cost of living goes up. Since they seem reluctant to give raises and share the wealth from the toil of the workers.
