I'm going to be having another epidural on my neck tomorrow afternoon. My third since the end of July. I've been in a lot of pain the last few days. Pinched nerve right C4-5.
Today my sister and I got mom's test results on her mental abilities. Mom is 87. We now will have to move her to assisted living against her will.
Medicaid will make this possible. I thank ALL the Democrats fighting any cuts to Medicaid!
So many Republicans are pro life. How many support a pro-quality life for seniors like my mom?

Neck pain sucks. Have you consulted a chiropractor?

6. At least you'll get some relief |
|
I don't know how often one can safely have epidurals, but when there is nothing working for the pain, it's better than zombying out on PKs. I've never had to have one myself, but if it has come to that point, I know you are suffering. Hope it gets better for you soon. I saw a segment on the news this evening where a lady had a nerve that was being irritated by pressure from some blood vessels. After years of pain, a doctor finally went in and wrapped the nerve with felt where it was touching the blood vessels. The effect was immediate and all the pain had vanished! Don't know if your affliction qualifies, but it might be worth checking into.

9. I've visited a lot of assisted living facilities with my therapy dogs and |
|
they were usually quite nice and well staffed. The residents appeared to be reasonably happy, although i know most would have preferred to be at home. Don't forget to visit often if you can. Particularly until she gets adjusted. It means so much to them IMO. Sorry about your neck..wonder if your treatment would work on my lower back...two broken vertebras that give almost constant pain. (:. Take care......z

13. On the positive side, some days life is good. Consider that there is a place |
|
that can give care to Mom, and is affordable due to Medicaid.
Consider there are folks skillful enought to give you the treatment you need, and you are in a position to receive it.
Life can be considered good, looking at it from the different angle.

14. I will be thinking of you Steve - |

I understand the chronic pain (I have arthritis), it is no fun. As for your mom, we are going through the same thing with my in-laws. They are still in their house but mom thinks the home health care folks are "too expensive" so instead of the every other day we set up, she changed it to once per week. We've been checking out facilities to move them to. If she thinks home health care is too expensive ...
Will you be able to relax a bit on the weekend?
