("Here they come, here come the bastards..." -Primus) "Oath Keepers" on way to #OWS
Edited on Thu Oct-06-11 10:20 PM by Fire Walk With Me
Shared by Americans Against the Tea Party on Facebook:

http://oathkeepers.org/oath/2011/10/05/oath-keepers-and-the-wayseers-to-occupy-the-occupation/

"Our initiative is to place Oath Keepers’ message of Constitutionality in front of the demonstrators who show up at the rallies.

Oath Keepers is not involved in the leadership of 'Occupy Wall Street', but we have a keen interest in some subtle forces at play in all this, and we have a plan for countering those forces.

We have had numerous reports from our people who have attended some of these rallies, from Occupy Seattle to Occupy Los Angeles to Occupy Boston. Our reports indicate that most youth showing up at these events are people who have been suddenly awakened to the realization that this nation is in serious trouble. Many are frightened, more are angry, and most are confused. Oath Keepers notes that certain forces are attempting to co-opt their awakening by pointing a finger at Wall Street and using the corruption which is certainly documented and obvious to all to attack 'capitalism'. They are attacking 'capitalism' in order to persuade our youth that socialism (a soft form of communism) is to be preferred over the madhouse tactics of berserk corporate America, or, 'Wall Street'. This is a lie being sold to our nation’s youth. Oath Keepers intends to redirect that lie back to the truth, which is the fact that the Federal Reserve is at the heart of the problem and without the Fed the bad boys of Wall Street could not do so much damage to our country."

Who the hell are these people? First I've heard of them.

19. CAREFUL-this smells of a setup w/agent provocateurs already
in place with 'orders' to 'help shut it down'. I hope OWS can continue to avoid the traps. Props to OWS on that.

Can't afford to be there, but managed to send a few $ to their media fund (livestream etc.).

STAY SAFE and thank you. 99 % :hi:

20. And don't forger women. They are saving it from the women also.
Edited on Fri Oct-07-11 12:25 AM by jwirr
This movement destroyed a lot of families with their antiquated idea of the role of the male/female relationship in marriage.

They are nothing but rw trouble makers.

Oops wrong group - still trouble makers.

7. No. They are evangelicals - been around for years.
They are biblical neo-sexist mens crew.

Men head of the house, women subservient to men, etc.

They would part company w/ Paul at key points.

11. No, those are PromiseKeepers. Oathkeepers are military and cops who
swear to disobey Obama if they decide to because they think he's, well, not to their liking.

13. That's right
Should they decide their country is threatened by enemies--foreign or domestic--they believe they have the right (and a duty under their oath) to do whatever is necessary to defend it.

They're a helluva lot scarier than the PromiseKeepers.

March/April 2010 Issue

Founded last April by Yale-educated lawyer and ex-Ron Paul aide Stewart Rhodes, the group has established itself as a hub in the sprawling anti-Obama movement that includes Tea Partiers, Birthers, and 912ers. Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs, and Pat Buchanan have all sung its praises, and in December, a grassroots summit it helped organize drew such prominent guests as representatives Phil Gingrey and Paul Broun, both Georgia Republicans.

There are scores of patriot groups, but what makes Oath Keepers unique is that its core membership consists of men and women in uniform, including soldiers, police, and veterans. At regular ceremonies in every state, members reaffirm their official oaths of service, pledging to protect the Constitution—but then they go a step further, vowing to disobey "unconstitutional" orders from what they view as an increasingly tyrannical government. . . .

It was while volunteering for Ron Paul's doomed presidential bid that Rhodes decided to abandon electoral politics in favor of grassroots organizing. As an undergrad, he had been fascinated by the notion that if German soldiers and police had refused to follow orders, Hitler could have been stopped. Then, in early 2008, SWAT received a letter from a retired colonel declaring that "the Constitution and our Bill of Rights are gravely endangered" and that service members, veterans, and police "is where they will be saved, if they are to be saved at all!"

Rhodes responded with a breathless column starring a despotic president, "Hitlery" Clinton, in her "Chairman Mao signature pantsuit." Would readers, he asked, obey orders from this "dominatrix-in-chief" to hold militia members as enemy combatants, disarm citizens, and shoot all resisters? If "a police state comes to America, it will ultimately be by your hands," he warned. You had better "resolve to not let it happen on your watch."

9. Oh, that's just WONDERFUL.........
I was afraid one of these fringe right-wing orgs was going to try to hijack OWS one of these days..........guess I was right. :(

All these "Oath Keepers" are doing is obfuscating & covering up the truth here. There isn't a damn thing really wrong with the Fed, at least not the institution itself.

That screed makes it seem like they think they'll easily school a bunch of ignorant kids. It will be very amusing to see how they fare with that nonsense. But wth, maybe *they'll* get an education in the process.

Gonna be funny when the high-school grad cop tries arguing political theory with a protestor who wrote his Master's Thesis on the subject.

Their membership swelled after 2008 . . . HMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Do Paul supporters and conservatives not get that this is NOT an Anti-Obama movement, but an anti-corporation/wealthy movement?

25. So clearly there is an organized effort here
The Paulites spilled the beans last week when they said they wanted to come and "lead" this misguided kids into directing their anger at the Fed -- And this entire call to redirect/dilute/distort the OWS message has spread from the Paulites to the teabaggers to the libertarians and now the oath keepers...The leaders of those groups have gotten the memo from the unknowns in the 1% and they have their marching orders...

I hope OWS has their eyes wide open in case somebody tries to get cute

See the Mother Jones link I posted above at Nevernose's suggestion. The Oath Keepers were founded by a former Ron Paul aide and appear to take Paulite principles to their logical extreme.

26. LMFAO... so in between making fun of the protesters
they have decided that this is a viable protest and they should go in there and tell the people what they are really protesting? Go start your own protest losers, you really think that getting up off your ass for a day is going to change the minds of people who have been camped out for weeks? Who have been beaten and arrested? Just because no one shows up at your protests does not mean you can find one that actually has people and try to co-opt it.

Oh look...here comes their leader:

it sounds to me like the German situation when the Brown Shirts were sent in to disrupt communist and trade union rallies and meetings. I certainly hope that OWS reacts better than the German commies and unions did.
