Does anyone know how pervasive the The 9/12 Project is in politics?

I have a member of my family that has gotten involved with this right wing group that idolizes Ayn Rand and tries to rewrite American history. They have a presence in NY and I'm concerned they will try to infiltrate the OWS marches. I know they are involved in some of the tea bagging functions. They sometimes do charity work but it's always given with a lot of right wing propaganda.

I just need to know if many folks here have heard of them or if anyone knows how far reaching their influence is. I've had arguments with my family member because they are so convinced by the warped representation of America.

I will not link to their trash. The 9/12 Project is easily Googled or Binged.
