Harry Reid referred to McConnell as the "REPUBLIC Leader" on the Floor yesterday.
The meme is catching on that the new name for the Republicans is now the REPUBLICS. The "an(s)" aspect of their name is now verboten. It's good to see that Harry Reid (or someone in his crew) are paying attention to the POWER of language. Good for him.

1. I'm glad to see this.
Language sure does have power...

It's time we wielded it.

3. I call them Republans...
They don't put the "ic" in Democratic?
I don't put the "ic" in Republican.

Besides, "Republic leader" makes it sound like McConnell is the leader of the republic.

10. Why don't you ask them first, why they decided to use "Democrat" as an adjective?

6. Heard that, it was deliberate.
Reid put his thumb in Turtle's eye, on purpose.

7. Except, McConnel is not leading the Republic.
Nor should he ever. Don't give him ideas. Give the GOP a slogan worthy of their public service....just keep it clean. How about "Lickspittle" or "Toadie" or some other Victorian vituperation?

I know it doesn't make much difference, but the Republics have been calling Democrats the "Democrat Party" for years now...yes, it's sophomoric, but they do it because they hold the DemocratIC Party in contempt. Time to see if turn-about is fair play.

14. Was using Democrat as an adjective
originally an insult, or was it because only sissy liberals use proper grammar?

I always figured it was just stupidity that caused it rather than malice. Unfortunately with Republicans everything they do is a coin toss between those two motivations. Is the right winger just being stupid, or is he being an asshole? So hard to tell!
