Rick Santorum: When Selecting Candidate, ‘Look At Who They Lay Down With At Night’

Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) told the audience he was at the Values Voters Summit “every year because I’m a value voter.”

He then suggested that “value voters” should also pay attention to the husbands and wives of the people actually on the ballot.

“When you look at someone to determine whether they’d be the right person for public office, look at who they lay down with at night and what they believe,” Santorum said.

“Who is the person at their side who has been the closest counselor to that person?” Santorum said.

Santorum also went after President Obama for not supporting the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in court.

First and cardinal rule of politics: When you win, everybody goes up to share the glory. When you lose, as Santorum did in this photo, you lose by yourself. If the spouse absolutely insists on being at the podium too, okay. But a responsible parent would have told the kidsies that they should wait backstage. This is neglect bordering on abuse, and those poor kids should never have been up there.

If we believe in the one reference to gay sex in the old old Testament (Leviticus), then I guess we also need to all believe that eating shellfish is a MORTAL SIN. Jesus said don't waste your time with those ancient dietary laws, which kind of infers how he felt about the rest of Leviticus.
