Newly revised estimates put yesterdays crowd at about 10,000, instead of the 5,000 initial estimate.
Estimated 500-1,000 hung in through the night in the two occupied parks. That's more than I expected.
Cold and damp this morning, but spirits are high, and lots of folk have stopped by with coffee and donuts.
Police are being remarkably restrained so far. No reports of brutality, only two arrests so far (both for vandalism).
Things are about to get more interesting. The Portland Marathon is today, and they hold valid permits to the two occupied parks, police say they must be vacated for the marathon, occupiers say no.
It could get interesting today, and I don't mean that in a good way. Portland Police have a long and ugly history of brutality, especially in protest situations.
Stay tuned, and rock on, fellow PDX'ers!
